Questions

So I'm going to steal this from the other gals' blogs I read... not that many people read my blog I'm sure & those that do might not have any questions because they know me so well but if you have any questions ask me! I'll answer them on Saturday :-)

Nose Boop

Image
The day before yesterday I was holding Delilah & I asked her where mommy's nose was and she pointed to it! Then John asked her where daddy's nose was and she pointed to his too!! We're still trying to get her to find her own nose :-) Yesterday we went to visit Uncle Aaron & Uncle Tracy. On the way there I was showing Delilah how to give high fives with an open hand. I showed her a few times and then I asked her if she could give mommy a high five. And she did!! Earlier today I asked her for a high five again and again she did! It's so great seeing them learning to do the things you've showed them :-D Uncle Aaron cooked dinner for us & John and I supplied dessert (unfortunately something store bought since we didn't have time to make anything ourselves). It was a 3 layer chocolate cake. For some reason- even though I vowed to John after the icing tasting at Auntie Ashley's that she wouldn't have anything else like that until her birthday- I de...

Look at this girl

Image
Look at this beautiful, loving, happy, funny, kiss giving, huggable, loveable girl.... who in their right mind wouldn't want to be a part of this darling baby girl's life? She is the most happiest, loved little girl I know. She's funny & sweet. Loves her daddy. Loves her mommy. Loves her Pappy & Grammy and Auntie... and all the people who care enough about her to be in her life & love her. I could just play the day away with her. Life is so much better with her. No matter what happens in our lives there is always her. We will always do what's in her best interest. My beautiful boo Trying to get her to "rawr" in the stacker like Daddy

Today we went to my parents' for our weekly visit. This weekend my brother was there. The last few times he hasn't been able to hold Delilah- although he has been able to get smiles out of her. Today he tried holding her & she reached back to me pretty much right away. Later after we were in the living room me on the floor playing with her, Roger in the chair, he tried holding her again. This time she let him! And he carried her in to the kitchen for lunch time. After she was fed he held her some more & I got a few pics. I guess 2nd chances aren't for everyone. A branch was extended to talk & refused. We tried & that's all we can do. Even if we didn't want to we knew it was right. But we can't try with what's not there. I guess it's ok to say the things that were said & to act the way they acted. We're the ones that are wrong apparently... we're the ones who were disrespectful & disowning. And we need to get over it... yea...

New chances

Today John, Delilah & I went to visit an old friend of mine. We've had our problems but for some reason after she tried contacting me 3 times (we hadn't talked in quite awhile) I responded back. I don't know why or what I expect except that I just want to try to be friends. We went to her son's soccer game today- it was so cute. A bunch of 4 and 5 year olds running around a soccer field trying to score a goal. What a sight! Delilah usually is pretty apprehensive about people but she smiled for Jess pretty much immediately. At one point she kind of reached for Jess so I handed her over. She let Jess hold her for seriously a second & was holding her arms out to come back to me. This happened about 2 more times at the field. Afterwards we went back to her house to hang out a little. This is where Delilah decided that Jess could hold her & not just for one second but for quite a bit longer. Jess's son was just the most amazing, gentle, sweet little guy ever ...

A New Me

Image
Well sort of.... so a few weeks ago I was looking in the mirror seeing the blonde roots that had grown out contrasting the black. I'm sooo tired of dying my hair! Even though I don't necessarily like my natural color I decided to go back to it so I don't have to dye it anymore. I didn't tell anyone- not anyone at work, not my bestfriend even (of course John knew & my mom and dad since I needed her hair dryer LoL). I thought it would be a piece of cake & would be done in a weekend. Then I was going to surprise everyone by going in to work blonde. I started off looking up online how to go about it without ruining my hair. I found an article suggesting a hair dye stripping kit & a SUPER deep conditioner. I went to Walmart and bought Cholesterol cream (the super deep conditioner) hair dye stripping kit (which looked like it was there from the 70s due to the pics of the models LoL), and some blonde hair dye. That night I tried out the hair dye stripping kit- yea ...

Good morning to you! Good morning to you!

Last night we put Delilah in her first pair of big girl jammies!! I wanted to try them out because they're 12 month ones & I wanted to make sure they wouldn't be too big. They actually fit pretty nicely! Today was Delilah's weight check- she's 17 pounds 4 oz. So she gained 1 pound since her 9 month appointment (which was like a 9 1/2 month appoint >:-\ ).

High Five!

Image
Yesterday Delilah gave Daddy a high five!! Sort of ;-) We were playing on the bed & John held up his hand asking Delilah if she could give him a high five. I took her hand & showed her how. Then I asked her if she could do it. She took her hand, balled up in a little fist, and gave him a high "five". More like a high fist LoL Last night was the first time I gave Delilah a bath totally alone. John was doing something on the computer that needed his attention so I took her up. I should've let her in her crib while I ran the bath but I didn't & just took her in the bathroom with me... undressed & hoping she wouldn't pee on me LoL The only difference with giving her a bath myself than other bath times (we usually do a bath together as a kind of family moment- we've always done it this way since we brought her home) is I didn't have John to help rinse her hair. One of us, whoever is doing the washing that night, holds our hand over her eyes lik...

Kisses!

Image
Every day my darling boo amazes me- how much she's grown, how much she's learned, how much she's become her own little person. The other night Delilah gave her first kisses. We were playing on the bed before bedtime to unwind and I asked her "Delilah can I have a kiss?" She leaned forward so I could give her one! It's so cute because when she does it she comes at you mouth agape LoL So I kept asking her if I could have a kiss & after each one she started sticking her tongue out. At one point she stuck her tongue out & leaned forward enough so that she licked my cheek. Silly stinker! She's also learned to put her "gum"balls in the gumball machine and let them go. Before she would have hold of one, stick it in & hang on to it. Now she started letting them go. Unfortunately she also tries to stick her shapes in it from her cookie jar as well as anything else she can think of. Delilah certainly has her favorite people... she absolutely ad...

It's September

Image
So it's been September for 6 days now but it's like Labor Day really kicks it off. It's an end to the Summer and the beginning of Fall. Fall is our most favorite season- with the changing leaves & perfect weather Fall is like our Summer. Today we went over to the Rawlings' Family Freeburg home for a nice Labor Day BBQ. I just love getting together with Ash, Jon & the kiddos. It's certainly not the same with them being so far away :-( But we always manage to find time for eachother. Auntie Ashley is nervous that Delilah is going to forget her but I hope that those fears are quelled after our visits. Delilah just loves her Auntie and could never forget her. Every time she sees her Auntie she just wants her to hold her & not let go- not even for mommy sometimes! Delilah also loves her Uncle Jon. Even though she doesn't see him as much as her Auntie she's still taken with him. It might take her a little to warm up for him to hold her but he certainly...

#4s

Image
Delilah has been in #3 diapers for a long time now. I actually never thought she would upgrade to 4s. But the day of #4 diapers has arrived. We can always tell it's time to upgrade when diaper marks start to appear on her legs. I tried out a #4 today- MUCH better! Today John & I went up to Ey.no.n- it's around Sc.ran.ton area- to go to Bur.ling.ton Coat Factory. What's there? Super Ba.by Depot! I was disappointed this time around as they didn't seem to have as much stuff for 12 months as they did for Newborn+. That doesn't mean we didn't find some super friggin cute outfits. We got her a few outfits, 2 shirts, 3 pairs of jammies, and a winter coat. After that we went to Red Lobster- it was soo good! While John & I were on our excursion Grammy watched Delilah. They had lots of fun playing- Grammy even got some plastic bowls & a plastic spoon out for Delilah! After we got Delilah to take a late nap this afternoon we gave her dinner. She tried Spaghetti...

Wednesday News

Saturday was a fun day- we met my parents at Knoebels for one last day of summer fun. Well kind of- I hate summer LoL But the fun part was a definite. We rode a few rides & ate some good food. Plus had yummy funnel cakes!! John & I went on the flume... we didn't get anywhere near as wet at Ashley had when we all went a few weeks ago LoL Grammy bought Delilah this friggin adorable ladybug from one of the stores there- I wanna buy the bee for her birthday! I searched these animals- plumpee stuffed animals & I am like in love with them!! We took Delilah on the carousel- she still didn't really like it that much. Mom & I went on the Paratroopers.. ugh yea- I don't remember them going that high or that fast! After that John & I went on the teacups- yea sounds dorky but they're faster than you think! LoL Our last & final stop was the train. She really enjoyed that :-D Sunday we went to my Pap's for his birthday... he's 83. I feel bad because D...
