Nothing better in life than...

Image
when our life was blessed with Delilah. As I sit here & think about how I wish our lives were like this or that I try to bring myself back to reality & realize that amazingly wonderful things have happened in our lives. And while I may think that we have it bad there are always others who have it 10x worse. The things I feel are going badly? Mainly it's our finances. I wish John had a job- I wish we were better off financially- I wish we lived in a home in Riverside. I wish, I wish, I wish. Then I snap out of it & remember- we have each other. Meeting John was the best moment of my life. We have Delilah. The best thing to ever happen to John & I. Our parents and our friends. Without them we wouldn't have the support or the love we have. And Delilah wouldn't know their love either. We are very lucky to have the parents & friends we have. Some others are not as lucky. I need to remind myself that while things look bleak we at least have not only our healt...

Blog Slacker

Image
So I know I've been slacking on the blog not really posting much. Honestly it seems as though it takes a week to have enough to say LoL Don't get me wrong Delilah keeps us busy every day & she does cute, adorable things that make us laugh. And the not so endearing things like hitting... herself and us... and biting- herself... *sigh* Not sure what to do about it. Nothing we're doing seems to be working. Time outs lately are a joke to her- she thinks it's funny. What do you for that? When Delilah was at her pediatrician appointment in February her pedi said that around 18-24 months is when kids start to show they're ready for potty training. I figured that when Delilah hit 18 months we'd buy her a potty to start getting her used to it. The other day when we were outside playing she pooped and when we asked her if she pooped she grabbed her "area". I told John we should buy her a potty since she seems aware of it when we ask her. We picked one up Fri...

Virus

I had a very nasty computer virus and had to wipe the entire system and start over. So that means I lost e-mail addresses (you'd think I'd be smart enough to save them in a word doc!). Please e-mail me so I can add them to the address book. elizmw83@ptd.net In other news- Delilah broke our digital camera. Silly mommy was letting her play with it and even though I told her the other day if she breaks it we can get a new one I wasn't serious! She had it and I was talking to John in the kitchen. Well I was in between the kitchen and the living room so I could keep an eye on her. Then I hear this noise and I'm like o she must've just messed up a setting. I go and take the camera and it says there was an error and to turn it off. I tried turning it off and then back on. Nothing- error. I turned it around and there it was- the end of the lense was bent at a slight angle. Broken. Argh! But on the bright side I did get my new camera :-D

Delilah's 2nd Easter has come and gone- I can't believe it's already over! The year is going too quickly already. Saturday we took Delilah to an Easter Egg hunt at my Mom's church. I was a little nervous because I didn't know how they were going to organize the hunt and I've heard that parents can be brutal (I know it was a church event but come on, parents can be ruthless!). They split the groups up by age- Delilah was in the birth-3 years group and by far the youngest of our little group. But that didn't slow her down. She did wonderfully and collected quite a few eggs to my surprise. There was one little incident- Delilah and a little boy both went for the same egg. Technically Delilah saw it first and was going for it but he grabbed it. Hey whatever- that's how it is. She got a little upset but I redirected her to another egg and she was fine. Surprisingly though the little boy's dad made him give the egg back which was super nice, but not necess...
