4 years ago today

Four years ago today- at 7 p.m.- I became Mrs. Elizabeth Williams. John and I first met in 2000- I was 16 going on 17 (Sound of Music anyone?) and he had just turned 20. A mutual friend gave me his AIM screen name and I IMd him. A few weeks after talking online (it was delayed because he got mono) we decided to meet. He picked me up at my parents' house (a little late because he got a little lost) and off we went to Magic River Skateland (in my defense I didn't know what else to do LoL). I liked him so much from the beginning- I can remember sitting there at a table at Magic River when my foot touched his. It was like electric. Anyway as the old cliche goes... And then it was history. 4 years later he proposed and while I can't say it was the most romantic proposal, it's one I won't ever forget. 1 year later and we were married. It was an awesome wedding held on our favorite holiday- Halloween! I wore a black knee length dress with silver accents, a black cape, fish...

Hair color

Image
So as you all know I am trying to go back to my original hair color because although I love, love, love the black hair I am sick of having to dye it all the time. I had a hair appointment on Tuesday & got new color and a bit of a new cut. Without further ado my new hair color... From black, to reddish, to brownish... next step highlights.

On to Poe Valley!

Image
Sunday, instead of going to my parents for dinner like we usually do (mom had to have a "procedure" & couldn't eat anything but jello) we went to Poe Valley. This year it didn't seem as relaxing- but that could be because I fell and didn't have enough water that morning. Anyway we got there & parked. We walked down by the water but it was super muddy. Like couldn't even walk in it because it's that deep mud. Anyway, I spied a tree that I decided to take Delilah to look at. I stepped over in to this grassy area and then across the mud to the tree. Well the ground near the tree was muddy- slippery muddy and as I stepped upon it I went down. Delilah thankfully was just fine and I was too essentially. I scraped my arm a smidgen, scraped my knee a little, and hurt my right shoulder. O and my knees were nice & muddy too >:-\ Ah well... the rest of the trip was nice & we got some really cute pics of Delilah.

Birthday Fun (now with pics!)

Yesterday was Delilah's 1st birthday- and with that came her first birthday party! Let's first start with after she woke up. We had her open the presents we got her- I tried to get her to tear at the paper but she wasn't up for it. We got her a Fisher Price Laugh n Learn kitchen, a Fisher Price tea party set (the teapot talks, sings, etc. and it comes with two teacups and a plate with 3 shapes that look like desserts), a magical fairy shoe cottage (so cute!) and a Plumpee bumble bee (a stuffed animal). Around 9:00 it was up for a nap. Prior to her party I had to make a little run to get some balloons and a pit stop to Walm .art. I went to Walma .rt before I picked up the balloons to exchange a frame I had purchased the night before for a birthday poster I made (the one I got the night before was broken!). This one thankfully was fully intact. After that it was off to CA Re.ed for a foil balloon ( ok , ok I got two. I had to!) and then home to begin the decorating (this en...

Happy Birthday Darling Boo

Image
1 year ago today- at 8:25 a.m. exactly- Delilah Mary was born. About an hour later and I was holding her in my arms. I couldn't believe this darling little thing had been in my stomach and was now in my arms. She came two days after her projected due date of October 22, 2008. I woke up with contractions at 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 23rd. I tried going back to sleep- unsure if they were really contractions- but they kept coming. I called the hospital to see when I should come in as I wanted to stay home as long as I could. The nurse advised me to call Dr. S who was filling in for my midwife A. I instead called A's beeper and A called me back. She advised me to take some Benadryl (sp?) and try to go back to sleep. We didn't have any Benadryl (of course!) so all I could do was try to go back to sleep on my own. A few hours later John got up & went to work. Again I tried to go back to sleep with no luck. Around 8:30 I tried calling John because I couldn't take the ...

This is Halloween, this is Halloween!!

Image
Saturday we were supposed to go to Ash's Halloween party- unfortunately Delilah developed a cold (along with myself- although mine is taking longer to make an appearance!) and we weren't able to go. Ash had to cancel the party anyway because too many other peoples' children were sick too :-\ Anyway since we didn't get to go (everyone was going to put their kids in their costumes) we decided to put Delilah in her costume. Cute just doesn't describe how she looked in her costume! I'm a little peacock! Such a big girl- talking on the phone already! This Saturday is her birthday- 1 year old. It's like it was only yesterday that we brought her home.

"We find delight in the beauty and happiness of children that makes the heart too big for the body. " - Ralph Waldo Emerson " The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring." - Oscar Wilde Nothing in this world is better than seeing Delilah with my mom and dad... she adores them so and they in turn adore her. They would do anything for her- they would move the earth for her. They would never abandon her. Delilah is their world as much as she is ours. They would do anything to be with her. Carving Pumpkins!

Last night John & I carved pumpkins. The lil monster thing is mine & the face is John's.

Seether f*cking rocks!!

Image
Friday night John & I went to the Blooms.burg Fai.r to see Seether. We could not believe it when my mom told us a few months ago they would be playing there. Anyway we got there at 4:40... the concert wouldn't start until 7:30. It's a good thing we got there when we did- all that waiting paid off. We were in the 3rd row, center stage!! The opening band was Re.v The.ory (formly Reve.lation Theo.ry). They were really great but Seether just blew them away. Amazingly enough I met a woman who just so happens to work with my mom. She brought her camera & took lots of pics... and said she'd share them with me! I'm hoping she e-mails them soon so I can share with all of you :-) So lots has been happening- well lots of new things Delilah's been doing or trying anyway. Saturday we went to visit Auntie Ashley & the boys. It was so great getting together- I really miss the 2 second commute & seeing them more often :-( Ash made fried chicken & corn while John...

Answers!

So I know I said I'd do this tomorrow but all questions have been asked & I just feel like it LoL So here we go.... Larissa asked: ~ How did you meet your Husband? A friend of mine came in to work one day (BK... hey it was high school LoL) and said she had to talk to me. Later that night I went home & she said she had a guy for me I had to meet. So she gave me him AIM screen name & I messaged him. After talking for a few weeks on there we finally met. ~ How did you decide to name you LO? Well the middle name was always going to be Mary, after my mom. I have to admit that I did get the initial idea of the name from the much hated (by me anyway) 'Hey there, Delilah' song. But anyway one day as we were looking in a baby book (I making my choices & he making his) I said "What does Delilah mean?" We had two other names we liked but this was #1 on our list. As soon as we found out we were having a girl we said her name would be Delilah Mary. ~ What...
