Big Girl Bed- Part II

Image
The night after she slept in her big girl bed, she slept in her crib. But I was kind of hoping she would so my niece Madison could sleep in it instead of me having to blow up the air mattress again LoL Ever since then though she's been sleeping in the big girl bed. She even told John sister could have the crib & he could move it in to sister's room. I thought this past Sunday we were going to have a problem though. Delilah wanted me to rock her which I haven't done since she started sleeping in the bed- instead I lay next to her in the bed and sing to her. I was rocking her & sang a song and then she wanted some water & a tissue. I decided to see if she would get in her bed so I could get the water & tissue and asked her if she wanted me to put her in bed or if she wanted to climb in. She told me she wanted to climb in & then proceeded to try to climb in to her crib! I told her she couldn't climb in & she insisted she wanted to sleep in it. I tol...

Big Girl Bed

The past few days Delilah's been saying she wants to lay in her bed. So we lay in her bed & ask her if she wants to sleep her in bed (either at naptime or bedtime). She always responds yes but then when we get ready to leave she insists on being put in her crib. Last night she wanted to lay in her bed before bedtime and I assumed it'd be more of the same. But she actually insisted that she stay in the bed- I was very surprised. Now I did have to stay with her until she fell asleep but I didn't mind... I'm sure it's scary going from a safe, enclosed area to a big open space. Just to be on the safe side so she wouldn't fall out I put some pillows beside her. Before bed I went to check on her but I put up the safety gate first. I made so much noise trying to get that blasted thing to go right I woke her up. Luckily she went right back to sleep after I asked her if she was ok & told her that mommy would be in her room should she need me. And this morning aft...

It's raining pee!

Well in the potty- Delilah has been doing so well with going on the potty. I am so proud of her! My mom even bought her some pull ups & she LOVES them :-D She does very well with telling us when she has to pee & even when I'm skeptic that she'll go she surprises me & goes. I can't wait til it's pooping on the potty because I am so over that LoL She seems to be so excited for Tatum to come- she loves feeling her move in my belly when I tell her sister is moving. I think she's going to be a fantastic big sister! Last weekend when we went to visit Ash & the boys she didn't even get upset when I held Liam. She gave him a kiss on the head- so cute! Now like Ash pointed out it could be because Shawn was there entertaining her & that could very well be the case. Only time will tell I guess (40 days to be exact!). I finally finished Tatum's baby blanket (pics are on the pregnancy blog) so now I have her coming home blanket as well as Delilah'...

Left and right

Today while at the mall with Delilah, my niece Madison & my new friend Candice we were in this shoe store waiting as Candice looked for some snow boots. Delilah & I walked forward a little when Delilah said "I want to go left" and started to move towards the left. For some reason it hadn't even registered until Madison said to me Delilah just said she wanted to go left. We then went to Boscovs and as we were leaving we put the left/right direction to the test... when I said let's go right she went right! And when I said ok let's go left she went left! Such a smart girl :-) The other day we had our first real snow. I wanted to take Delilah out to play in the snow but had no snow boots. Why buy them when it hasn't snowed by now? O, because when it does snow you might have a hard time finding some! I did find some at Tar.get but of course I felt as though they were too big. So off to Pay.less I went. Found some there & bought them so we could have som...

Potty Time!

The morning after my parents watched Delilah so John & I could go see The Tourist Delilah woke up completely dry. So I thought I'd put her on the potty to see if she'd go. She didn't go- I don't think she liked me holding her up on the potty. Too uncomfy I'm sure. I had John buy a potty seat that fits on top of the big potty. The day John bought it Delilah was very excited to try it out. We put her on it and she peed! After she was done we went back in the living room & she insisted on sitting back on it. I didn't think she needed to go but had John take her anyway & she peed some more. And again after that time LoL But it hasn't been going so well since- she'll sit on it and won't go, then ask for "paper towel", and flush the toilet when done. No pee... but we're not pushing her. I know it'll happen when she's ready & all we can do is encourage her to go when she wants to sit on the potty. Delilah is just the be...

What's that?

Delilah's newest thing is asking "What's that?" It's cute but slightly annoying- the annoying part comes in when she's asked it 5 times in 1 minute... or more! I hate not being able to answer her when I'm not entirely sure what she's trying to have me indicate. Like when she asks I'm not sure if she means something she's looking at or something she's heard. Christmas has come and gone- Delilah made out like a bandit. Our Christmas started Friday afternoon when we went out to my Pap's for Christmas Eve. Delilah was being so cute playing with my Pap. She has never shown that much active interest in him before- usually she'd end up crying or being latched on to me or John. But this time she wanted him to hold her, play with her, etc. How could I not take pics? I mean I need at least one of her not crying :-D After that we went to John's parents'. John's brother, sister-in-law and their 3 girls were there too. Delilah got so...

Last weekend my mom & I took Delilah on a train ride. It was no ordinary train ride though. it was a special holiday train ride which included a story & a visit from Santa. And to our surprise a visit from Frosty, Rudolph, a gingerbread guy & an elf. Delilah loved the train ride and while she didn't care so much to look at Santa or give Frosty a high-five she shook Rudolph's "paw". I definitely would do it again- maybe next year John can go with if we find out ahead of time for him to ask off. Yesterday was supposed to be a busy day- we were going to go to Walm.art in the morning, visit my pap in the hospital in the afternoon, and then visit with my friend Jess & her son, Hughie, in the late afternoon. But Walm.art happened Friday night and my pap, surprisingly, was going to be going home Saturday morning (we didn't expect him to even be home by Christmas). So that morning I ended up at Target for diapers & the mall to look for something for my...
