Trick-or-Treat!!

Image
Tonight was our town's trick-or-treat night. I was hoping upon hope that Delilah would let us put her pirate costume on but I wasn't sure she'd have any of it. Although yesterday when John brought her in to work she had it on (he said it took 5 tries to get it on because she was flailing around and crying) and did wonderfully in it. About 10 minutes before trick-or-treat started I put the costume on her and she let me without a tear shed! We went to two of our neighbors houses and then down the street to see if there were others. There was like no one. We crossed the street because we had spotted a house and then we headed back to our house to hand out candy. Delilah loved handing out the candy to all the kids. But then she wanted to walk more. So I walked her to another neighbor's house, another house about 2 houses from that one and then back home. We handed out more candy but again she wanted to walk. So I took her to another house & then back to ours. She kept ...

Pedi appointment

Yesterday was Delilah's 2 year appointment. It went really well & she did so good. I was very proud of her! Just 6 months ago she cried the entire time her pedi was examining her. I even had to sit on the table and hold her! But yesterday she was such a big girl. She was so good when the nursed weighed her, took her height, took her temperature (in the side of her cheek even), and measured her head (although she wasn't liking that too much). When it was time for the pedi to examine her I put her on the table and didn't even have to hold her this time. She let the pedi do her exam including letting her look in her ears, in her mouth, in her eyes and even in her eyes with a light while the light was off! My big girl! Her weight was 25 lb 4 oz- 30th percentile Her height was 2' 9.6"

Delilah's 2nd Birthday

Image
Delilah's 2nd birthday party was on Saturday- it went really well if I do say so myself (despite some crying here and there). First thing we did after breakfast was go to the party store to buy her a balloon- I spotted a cute Minnie Mouse balloon that I got and as the lady was filling it up I spotted a pirate balloon that I had to have for her. After that we headed back to the house and decorated- well I put a table cloth on the table & hung up a pirate themed banner thing. That was the extent of my decorating LoL! Shortly after that my parents arrived and so did John. He & I went to the store to pick up her cake. Let me just say that I was NOT pleased with the cake. I felt as though they just "threw" it together like 5 minutes before we got there. It didn't look so much like the picture and for $8 extra dollars it friggin should. O well. We got back home & everyone started arriving quickly- except my sister who got lost haha In her defense she hasn't ...

Happy Birthday Boo

Dearest Delilah, Two years ago you were born in to our lives. Everyday you amaze me by how much you've grown, how much you've picked up and how much you've brought such a light to our lives. You make me laugh, you make me mad, you make me realize how boring life would be without you. Thank you for choosing us to be your family. Happy Birthday my beautiful little girl. Mommy and daddy love you so much. Love, Mommy & Daddy 10/24/2010

Tonight was our town's Halloween parade and we took Delilah for the first time. She loved it! She watched everything going by and paid such close attention. She even got some candy (which mommy and daddy will eat) and two kids that actually live down the street from us were super nice & gave her a few pieces. Earlier today John e-mailed me a pic at work of Delilah. This picture just emphasizes how she feels about her costume. Saturday is her birthday party- Sunday is her 2nd birthday. Eek!! I can't believe she's going to officially be two. I mean it kind of seems to me like she already is in a way but Sunday just makes it that more official. We got her the Mickey Mouse train, an Olivia book, and will be getting her a goldfish. I'm going to get the bowl ready tomorrow night & get the fish Saturday night to give to her Sunday morning. I can't wait!

On a post roll!

Wow I don't think I've posted this much in quite awhile. I just had to share about Delilah's cupcake encounter today. After her nap John gave her a cupcake. She wanted nothing to do with picking it up so she tried to eat it while it sat on the table in front of her. John got her to take a bite but then she wouldn't eat any more. I suggested a fork (he had called me at work) which he said he was going to try in a second. The fork didn't really work. That is until he called the cupcake simply cake. As soon as he called it cake she began eating it. Apparently to Delilah there is a big difference between her preference for a cupcake or cake LoL Buried in stuffed animals!

Aargh matey!!

Thanks for your comments everyone- I'm so glad you all read & enjoy the updates :-) Today Delilah's birthday supplies came. And so did her costume- yay!!! Like I said before I had ordered some eye patches for the kids and decided to see if Delilah would even wear it. She loved it! The costume on the other hand wasn't such a hit- she loved the hat that came with it. But when I put the costume on to see if it fit she was not liking it. I hope she'll be ok for Halloween! I think I should have John put it on her a few times a week to get her used to it. Aaargh- I'm a pirate! Her costume (minus the sword)
