1 Year BFP Anniversary

Image
*BFP means Big Fat Positive* Today is the 1 year anniversary of when I found out I was pregnant with my beautiful daughter Delilah. I can't believe I was pregnant at this time last year & now here I am with my little munch who completes our lives. I really feel like I owe a big thank you to one of the girls on my one board. Her name is Brianna & without her immense knowledge & guidance regarding PCOS and trying to conceive. I wouldn't be here today (even though John had something to do with this too hehe). When I was seeing the fertility dr., he put me on 50 mg. of Clomid initially. I was instructed to take the Clomid & to later come in for bloodwork. If I didn't ovulate on 50 mg. then I would be switched to 100 mg of Clomid. If I did ovulate on 50 mg. of Clomid then we would just try 50 mg. again. Now, I did ovulate on 50 mg. of Clomid but it wasn't a strong ovulation. However, the dr. wasn't going to increase my Clomid dosage. Also my luteal phase ...

Food Fun

Last night we gave Delilah her first "solid" food... rice cereal. Now, I now you're supposed to wait until your pediatrician gives you the go ahead (about 4 months) but ours technically did. Delilah has had problems with spitting up after her feedings. Even if she's burped after the feeding she'll still regurgitate immediately after or even hours later. Anyway, Dr. M said we could put rice cereal in her bottle. That'd probably work a lot better if she took to the bottle more willingly but she doesn't so I figured, what the heck? Off we went to Walmart to buy cute bowls & spoons to feed her with and home we came to use them. She did very well for it being her first time & took to the spoon pretty decently. Below are some pics of her enjoying her first meal of rice cereal. Yesterday morning I was sitting with Delilah in the bedroom. While entertaining herself she spotted the ribbon on my night shirt & grabbed it. She decided it looked like a tast...

The Ba- Part II

~Edit: I wanted to wait to talk to my mom. When I'm at an indecision she's pretty good at making up my mind for me LoL I pretty much had decided that I wanted to ask for the 1 month I have left of my allotted time (I keep saying ask for it but really I'm entitled to it). Mom suggested writing a letter & sending it snail mail. That way I won't have to deal with the ogre named J. I don't know why but this guy intimidates me & is kind of scary. I hate feeling the way I do... I shouldn't have to feel afraid to tell them I want that extra month to spend with my family. I know I overthink things and I'll be a mess after I send the letter but like my mom said tonight- I have to stop worrying, things will work out (you'd think I'd know that by now!).~ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Yesterday we tried the bottle again & Delilah did pretty well. She didn't complain, she didn'...

I love it

I love it when a friend meets Delilah for the first time. I love seeing the reaction they have- especially when they hold her for the first time. And even more so if they're not used to holding children. There's this fear- you can almost smell it LoL Not that I wasn't the same way before. I didn't know the "right" way exactly to hold a kid. And I always thought something was wrong with me because they'd cry. John's niece Abby cried, Shawn cried... Landon didn't- although Landon had been out in the world for a few hours & was tired from all the excitement. I must excuse Shawn from this "classification" because he was fresh out of the proverbial oven. Lots going on for that little man. Nothing is more special than being a part of a birth & seeing that little life coming out. I got to experience that with my best friend & she, for the most part, got to experience it with me. I would've loved to experience pushing Delilah out...

O our bottle woes... we should've stuck with it when we first gave her one at 3 weeks. But at that point I didn't have an electric pump. I only had the crappy manual one the hospital gave me to take home. You couldn't pump out anything with that P.O.S. Yes, we tried formula in the bottle as well but she only took that like twice. We were using playtex drop-ins and tried a NUK bottle. Nothing. Then we tried a soothie bottle. No way!! Our last attempt with a new bottle is with a bottle that I like to call the "Boobie Bottle". Seriously it looks like one. I thought Delilah would take to that but she still resists. And to top it off she'll only really take the bottle from me. It's either the bottle or the boob... both of which she can get from me. I just have this fear that I'll go back to work & she won't take it... she'll wait for me to get home. And believe me, she would. She's gone 5 hours without eating because she wouldn't take t...

Ear Wax & Poop

Image
I don't think anyone will ever say that motherhood doesn't come with some sort of grossness... the other day Delilah had a piece of ear wax in her ear. I decided I'm going to try to blow it out. Bad idea. I blow on the piece of ear wax and out of her ear it flies... in to my mouth!! :-p Ew... Yesterday John goes to change her diaper after she left out a couple toots because she was wet. No sooner did he have her diaper open & her legs up to wipe her did she let out another toot and a heavy poop flow. Thank goodness the diaper was underneath her. And yes, it was hilarious! Yummy fingers! My two loves The lip (I just woke up from a nap)
